THE ICE PRINCESS Chapter 5

My garden is simply delightful right now. True, it’s still full of weeds (mostly wild violets and Star of Bethlehem) but the mosquitoes haven’t yet hit and the evenings are just right–not too hot, not too cold. My shade garden (under a big old maple tree) has white short-spurred columbine and Spanish bluebells blooming amongst the unfurling hostas. I did see the wicked bunny by my tiny veggie garden, but hadn’t the heart to scare her away. Mr. Hoyt (who grew up on a farm) said it’ll be my own fault if we have no tomatoes this summer!

Website updates for May are done! Here’s what you might want to check out:

Enjoy!

Can I just say that if your gunna end chapter 5 like THAT you had better not make us wait much longer for chapter 6! I’m chopping at the bit already and I just read chapter 5 yesterday! Don’t leave us hanging!!!!!!

Aaarrrrggghhhh….this is killing me! Even tho I know it won’t be published for weeks, I obsessively check every day to see if a new chapter is up. Must…read…more…”gasp”

I totally do the same thing! I’m so glad I’m not the only one….

  5. ranearia says:

what a cliffhanger! *sighs* another month to wait *sniffles*

since here in malaysia we don’t have bunny problems, how do these stray, danger-to-garden bunnies look like? where do they go? O_O

    • Hi Ikhlas! The bunnies look like Peter Rabbit bunnies–gray-brown cottontails. They hide under bushes during the day. Mostly. ;-) And now they’ve eaten two of my sweet pepper plants. Mr. Hoyt has cut the ends off of 2 liter plastic pop bottles and stuck them around the rest of the plants. Don’t know if this will work or not.

BTW, inre: bunnies (southern Indiana) – we plant marigolds around the garden to keep them away (a flat for a ~20′x20′ garden). Knock on wood, we’re un-nibbled to date. I’m not sure if this is “scientifically proven” – I’ve heard they don’t like the smell – but it can’t hurt, can it?:)

  9. Statira says:

Okay I finished the chapters in two hours. Which they were great but this waiting is horrible. I am very much waiting for the captains response. Guess I will read your other books while I wait for the next chapter. :)

This must be what the Victorians felt like waiting for the next chapter of a Dickens serialized novel. Great work!
