October’s Book of the MonthI just got back from a conference that took place in beautiful St. Petersburg, Florida, where I enjoyed not only the beach and waves but also some fabulous seafood. Believe it or not, I’m glad to be home, though. Autumn in central Illinois is simply gorgeous–the nights have turned cool, the trees are blazing orange and yellow, and the Honey Crisp apples are ripe. I do live this time of year!
I’ve got some updates to my website.
- The new Book of the Month is Sally MacKenzie’s The Naked Baron.
- Notorious Pleasures has a new and improved cover–take a look and let me know what you think.
- The Maiden Lane series Cast of Characters is up.
- And you still have time to enter my website contest!
Finally, I’ve got an exciting contest up on Facebook: In October I’ll be giving away a $100 gift certificate to Borders bookstore. To enter the contest all you have to do is “like” my Facebook fan page. That’s it! And if you’re already a fan, don’t worry–you’re entered into the contest.

Website Updates!I made a batch of applesauce yesterday from some lovely Ozark Gold apples. This is a autumn tradition in the Hoyt Household–picking apples at the local orchard, and making applesauce and apple pie. Mr. Hoyt does love the autumn!
I have some updates to the website!
First up, my novella, The Ice Princess has been released in ebook form! The heroine of The Ice Princess is Coral Smythe, who you may remember from The Raven Prince where she played a small part as the madam of Aphrodite’s Grotto. You can find an excerpt from The Raven Prince that features Coral as well as the first chapter excerpt of The Ice Princess and links to buy the ebook on The Ice Princess page.
While The Ice Princess is available only in ebook form at the moment, we do hope to publish it in a paper anthology soon!
I’ve posted the first scene excerpt of Notorious Pleasures, my February 2011 book featuring Lady Hero.
I have a new Book of the Month–Lila DiPasqua’s Awakened by a Kiss.
And finally, reader Rane Aria sent me some lovely original fan art for Wicked Intentions.
Enjoy!

Wicked Intentions in Stores Now!Wicked Intentions, the first book in my new Maiden Lane series, is out this month. It’s received another wonderful review, this time from Coffee Time Romance:
“What a fantastic novel Wicked Intentions is! I have always enjoyed reading Ms. Hoyt’s work and this is no different. The contradicting way that Temperance is in her mannerism shows the daily struggle she has with what she considers a passion that she must hold back. Add the mysterious sensual background of Caire and this story will get you turning pages as fast as you can. On top of that, the heartbreaking story of Temperance’s sister makes you hope to see her in a future story and soon.”
And I have a few updates to my site:
I’ve posted a sneak peek of my next book, Notorious Pleasures.
The Makepeace Family Tree is up.
Eileen Dreyer’s Barely A Lady is my book of the month
And finally I’ve got a new website contest up this month: a chance to win all four of the Legend of the Four Soldiers books and a gift card to Barnes and Noble.
Enjoy!

Finally, Wicked Intentions has received a quite lovely review from John Charles at Booklist:
“It is an offer Temperance Dews can’t afford to turn down. Ever since they lost their last patron, Temperance and her brother Winter have struggled to keep open the foundling home their family runs. So when Lazarus Huntington, Lord Caire, arrives one evening with a proposition, Temperance finds herself inviting the notorious nobleman in for tea rather than showing him the door. Lazarus needs to find someone in St. Giles, and he believes Temperance can help him because the foundling home is located in a crime-riddled London neighborhood, and she knows nearly everyone. In exchange, Lazarus will give her the temporary funds she needs, and introduce her to the wealthiest members of society. It was a simple business transaction, but Temperance and Lazarus quickly find themselves distracted by his and her new “partner.” With a dash of sharp wit; a rare literary flair for creating complex, compelling characters; and lively writing that packs a powerful emotional punch, Hoyt delivers the first sensually charged, danger- infused installment in a new Georgian-set series.”
