We have no snow yet, but the colder weather has definitely moved to central Illinois. The shorter days and chill make me want to hibernate through December, but I have the feeling my family would object…who would cook all the traditional holiday dishes if I’m burrowed under the covers?
I’m very pleased to announce that Scandalous Desires was named one of the best books of 2011 by Publishers Weekly and was chosen for RT Book Review‘s Seal of Excellence for November.
For a short time only my contemporary romance, For the Love of Pete is on sale in most ebookstores, including: Amazon, Nook, Sony, Kobo, Ebooks.com, Diesel, and Books on Board.
I hope you enjoy spending lots of time with your family this holiday season!

Brrrr! It’s cold here in central Illinois–and snowy, too! I was in Minnesota for Thanksgiving and got to stay for the snowstorm a week later. So far I’ve bought a new pair of boots and a new winter coat this season.
As a special holiday treat I’ve posted Melisande and Jasper’s (from To Seduce a Sinner) epilogue in the Extras section.
Also in the Extras section this month is the Book of the Month–Jennifer Ashley’s Lady Isabella’s Scandalous Marriage.
December’s website contest prize is all four of the Legend of the Four Soldiers books.
If you haven’t been to my Facebook Fan page, now is the time to visit! I’m giving away a $100 gift certificate to fans of the page–just click on the “like” button to enter!
Finally, I’m very pleased to announce that Wicked Intentions is up for a RT Reviewer’s Choice Award in the Most Innovative Historical category!
Enjoy!

I’ve got my manicure, I’ve got my pedicure, and I’m almost all packed for the Romance Writers of America Conference in Washington D.C. this week. The conference is held at the Marriott Hotel in Wardman Park. If you’ll be attending and would like to stop by and say hello, here are the events where I’ll be appearing:
This event is open to the public. You may bring your own books to be signed, but since this is a charity fundraiser, attendees are encouraged to buy there as well.
- Friday, July 17th, 9:45-10:45 a.m. in Virginia C: I’ll be presenting my workshop, Sex Scene Viagra
Are your love scenes limp? Do they lie there on the page, sad and pathetic, too depressed and self conscious to get it up? Come to this workshop, learn how to write a kick ass love scene, and never have to worry about sex scene performance anxiety again!
- Friday, July 17th, 3:00-4:30 p.m, location TBA: Grand Central Book Signing
Free books! It took me years to realize that you could get all sorts of free books at RWA nationals by going to the publisher signings. Who knew? (Well, obviously not me.)
To Seduce a Sinner is up for the RITA! I must admit that I was too shy to attend the RITA and Golden Heart Awards Ceremony at my first conference, but it’s a lot of fun and everyone is welcome.
I hope to see you in D.C.!

The thunderstorms have been almost constant here in the Midwest, making for a very wet June. The good news, though, is that my garden is very lush from all the rain!
I’m pleased to announce that To Taste Temptation has won the Desert Rose Golden Quill Award.
Website updates for June have been made, the main ones being that Chapter 6 of The Ice Princess is up. I’ve also got new bookmarks for To Desire a Devil, and the second scene excerpt for To Desire a Devil is up as well. As always bookmarks and bookplates are free, so be sure and order as many as you’d like.
There’s still time to enter my May/June website contest–the prize is a complete Princes trilogy!
The Romance Writers of America national conference is coming up soon–this year it will be in Washington D.C. Part of the conference is a massive romance author signing on Wednesday, July 15th from 5:30-7:30 pm. This signing is open to the public–you don’t have to be registered at the conference–and will include more than 500 romance authors this year. All proceeds from the signing go to local literacy charities. If you live in the D.C. area, this is a signing you won’t want to miss–and if you do come, make sure and stop by and say hello to me!
Finally, my publisher, Hachette Book Group USA, is offering The Leopard Prince to read online for free!

I spent the evening weeding my garden (curse you, hackberry tree seedlings!) and discovered that it’s overflowing with bunnies. Two have taken up residence in the front garden and three hop back and forth between my back yard and my neighbor’s. I suspect a nest in the front garden, but haven’t gotten close enough to look for fear of scaring away the mother bunny. In any case I’m sure we’ll soon have even more bunnies. . . .
Both To Taste Temptation and To Seduce a Sinner have been nominated for the 2008 Cover Contest in the Two Cover category. This is a fun contest to browse just to check out all the pretty romance covers, so go ahead and take a look.
Finally, I’m pleased to announce that To Taste Temptation has finaled in the 2009 Desert Rose Romance Writers Golden Quill contest. Chocolates for everyone (except the dogs!)

Thank you to everyone writing me with news of where they found To Beguile a Beast! It’s always so wonderful to hear as the books hit the shelves.
In all the excitement about the new web design and new book, I clean forgot to mention that Chapter 4 of The Ice Princess is up! Do go and take a look.
This last weekend I spent a lovely few days in Orlando, Florida at the Romantic Times BOOKreview Convention. I got to meet many readers, lounge by the pool with author friends, and watch the little gecko lizards dart in and out of the underbrush. Everything is so green and lush in Florida! But while there I also picked up the Reviewer’s Choice Award for Best Historical of the Year (the year being last year!) for To Taste Temptation. What a wonderful honor!
